While the IFPA Qualifying tournaments are geared towards the average, everyday ice fisherman who has the desire to compete against other ice fishermen and make some cash, there are those who want more.
The "IFPA Pro-Series" is geared towards the ice fisherman who wants to compete with the best of the best, and be able to earn a paycheck to match, not to mention the bragging rights that go along with wining a "IFPA Pro-Series" event.

Certainly not for everyone, but if you want to make ice fishing a career, this is the place.

The Pro-Series Tournaments will be held at SOME of the same locations as the IFPA Qualifying events. The Pro-Series Tournaments will be one day events held on Sundays, the day after the Qualifying event, on the same body of water.

The rules and regulations will be the same for both the Qualifying events and the Pro-Series, with a few exceptions:

The full field limit for the Pro-Series will be 150 entrants. Teams OR individuals.

The entry fee for the Pro-Series will be $400.00

Payouts will be paid to the top 10% of the entrants. 150 entrants would mean 15 entrants would get a paycheck, 70 entrants would mean 7 entrants would get a paycheck. Based on a full field, the payout will be as follows:

1st - $20,000
2nd - $10,000
3rd - $8,000
4th - $5,000
5th - $3,000
6th - $2,000
7th - $1,500
8th - 1,000
9th - $500
10th - $500
11th - $500
12th - $500
13th - $500
14th - $500
15th - $500

As of now, we have one Pro-Series event planed for Bomoseen Lake, Vermont on March 7th and are looking at two other locations, maybe Silver Lake NY and Walker Lake PA.

Expect more information about this series as it becomes available, with additional details on locations, championships and such.

Now I look forward to participating in some of these tournaments and have a couple questions. Do you have to be a IFPA member to compete? And How could I get involved in the pro series if I get my partner talked into it?

No membership is required. At some later point (like next year) we might offer OPTIONAL memberships that would offer a few perks.

I'll update and provide more information as it becomes available, probably will be awhile till I get the registration forms up.

Keep in mind that you do not NEED a partner for any of the IFPA tournaments. If you want a partner, that's cool. Also cool if you want to go solo.

PS - I saw your post on IS /VT section and almost sent you a PM until I figured out who you were.........
